Mamie Powers is originally from Medford, Massachusetts. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College in 2022, majoring in Russian and Mathematics. Following her undergraduate education, she studied Russian for a year at al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of the Language Flagship program. She has worked at the Jamestown Foundation since October 2023, where she is now the Managing Editor of Eurasia Daily Monitor. Her main research interests include language policy, the demographic makeup of Eurasia, and post-Soviet space policy.
