Ilya Yudkovsky hails originally from New York City and Amherst, Massachusetts. He graduated from McGill University in 2022 with a joint honors B.A. in History and Political Science. After spending 5 months as a humanitarian volunteer in Ukraine, he interned as a research assistant at the Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute working on race and migration in Russia’s Far East. Ilya’s areas of interest include Russian civil society and the activism of Russian veterans’ groups, particularly those of the Soviet war in Afghanistan.
