Flora Harutyunyan, originally from Armenia, completed her undergraduate degree as a Davis International Scholar at the University of Florida, where she pursued a double major in Political Science and Spanish. Her senior thesis focused on the topic of Women’s Substantive Representation in Armenia from 1995 to 2017. After graduation, she returned to Armenia, where she expanded her expertise in education, promoted equal opportunities for the local youth through collaboration and co-organization of different educational initiatives and worked with institutions such as UWC Dilijan College and American Councils for International Education. At CERES, Flora’s research interests are primarily centered on borders and ethnicity, as well as women’s political representation in the South Caucasus.
