Effi Holston is from Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her B.A. from Brown University in 2022, majoring in Linguistic Anthropology, Hispanic Studies and Classics. Having studied Latin and Sanskrit, she began pursuing Russian on the side in order to explore an inflected language that remains a global political and literary force. At Georgetown, she is interested in learning more about how language influences national and regional identities and how it can serve as a tool in refugee and displacement crises.
