Anna Lajos is of Russian and Hungarian origin and spent 14 years living in Russia before relocating to Abu Dhabi to complete her high school education. She has also spent many summers in Spain, where she learned Spanish, adding it as her fourth language alongside English, Russian, and Hungarian.
For her undergraduate studies, Anna attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, where she majored in International Relations and minored in Comparative Politics. In addition to her academic pursuits, she was a Division I Varsity Tennis athlete.
At Georgetown University, she is eager to deepen her expertise in Russian studies and the broader Eastern European region, aiming to become a true expert in the field. In the long term, Anna hopes to remain in Washington, D.C., and pursue a career in the private sector, where she can apply her global perspective on international affairs and her multilingual fluency to provide insights and collaborate with globally oriented organizations and corporations.
She views the CERES program as an excellent opportunity to strengthen her understanding of the region she comes from and to expand her knowledge of regional political and economic dynamics in support of her professional aspirations.
