Originally from London, Adriane came to Georgetown from Switzerland as an undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is set to graduate from Georgetown with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Russian this Spring, and she will remain for an additional year as an accelerated master’s student in the MARES programme at CERES. With close familial ties in Britain, Germany, Austria, and Estonia, she grew up spending plenty of time in the Baltics and Eastern Europe. During her time in the MARES program, she seeks to deepen her knowledge of the region and hone an interdisciplinary skillset appropriate for dealing with the existential, long-term issues such as climate change, ecocide and the environmental consequences of conflict that are set to transform and already have transformed the region.
