Title: MAERES Alumna Nina Jankowicz Awarded Fulbright-Clinton Fellowship to Ukraine

CERES congratulates MAERES 2013 alumna Nina Jankowicz on her selection as a 2016-2017 Fulbright U.S. Student Program Finalist. Nina will provide expertise in strategic communications to the Ukrainian government as a Fulbright-Clinton Fellow.

Nina received her MA in Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies from Georgetown University in 2013. Her research at CERES was focused on the Eastern Partnership and Polish-Russian relations. In 2011, Nina graduated with her BA from Bryn Mawr College, where she double majored in Russian and Political Science.

Nina has worked for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) since 2013. At NDI, Nina managed democracy assistance programs in the Eurasia region and worked on NDI’s Government Relations and Communications team. Nina was also named a “Rising Expert” in Eurasian affairs by the Washington, DC-based Center for Global Interests and speaks Russian, Polish, and Ukrainian.

Nina is one of over 1,900 U.S. citizens who will provide expertise abroad for the 2016-2017 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Fulbright grants are awarded on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as demonstrated leadership and commitment to service.
