Title: Support the Ion Rațiu Chair and Romanian Studies at Georgetown!

The Ion Rațiu Chair in the School of Foreign Service, the first chair of Romanian studies in the world and the only one outside of Romania, needs your support.

The Ion Rațiu Chair of Romanian Studies at Georgetown University was established by Ion Rațiu in the late 1980s to expand knowledge of modern Romanian history, politics and culture in the capital of the United States. It has been held by a series of distinguished and widely known experts: Charles King, Dennis Deletant and, most recently, Diana Dumitru.

Ion Rațiu—diplomat, journalist, businessman, writer, and, in the 1990s, influential Romanian politician—made his career in exile in London after the Communists came to power in Romania. In 1961, he started publishing the Free Romanian Press, and he opposed totalitarianism of all kinds. Please help support his legacy!

Donations will directly support the activities of the Chair as well as bolstering the endowment to make the Chair a permanent tenure-line position with appropriate salary and research funds.

Please give to our fundraising page here.
