Title: CERES Stands in Solidarity with Ukraine

Georgetown’s Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies condemns the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine in the strongest possible terms. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life, violence, and chaos this military assault has created. We are shocked by the decision to violate international law and state sovereignty. We fear tragic consequences for Ukraine, Russia, Europe and the world. We support all those, including those in Russia, who oppose war and military aggression. As scholars and students, in line with academic and civic institutions around the world, we stand against the use of historical distortions and the manipulation of information to justify these acts. CERES urges all citizens and policymakers to seek out authoritative information from reputable sources and experts in the region.
