Title: Commencement 2020

Saturday, May 16th, the CERES community gathered for a commencement ceremony unlike ones of years past.  While this was the date initially intended for graduation, the gathering of students, faculty and loved ones on screens across the country was not.

This virtual component did not deter CERES from celebrating the achievements of its graduates and wishing them much success for their futures.  Dr. Angela Stent, Director of CERES, addressed the audience donned in graduate regalia to commemorate the special occasion.  Surrounded by a backdrop of books in her personal library, she was a vision of scholarly knowledge and offered words of congratulations and encouragement.  She then read the names of students who have now earned MAERES degrees and ERES certificates.

In closing, CERES alumna and professor Dr. Jennifer Long, who guided students in their capstone projects this Spring, thanked parents for their support of their students along their academic journeys and congratulated students for their hard work in earning their degrees.

Commencement may have looked differently this year, but the message for grads continued to be one of hope and inspiration.
