Madeline Fyock graduated in 2026 from the University of South Carolina Honors College with degrees in Russian Studies and Vocal Performance. She also studied Russian at Yerevan State University in Armenia and at the Middlebury School of Russian. She worked as a research assistant, investigating cultural shifts in the US Russophone diaspora after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 as well as the experiences of Ukrainian immigrant women in South Carolina. After graduation, she participated in the Hertog Foundation’s Security Studies Program, where her cohort studied the foundations of geopolitics and grand strategy, and explored U.S. relations with Russia, the Middle East, and China. Currently she is interning at the Hudson Institute’s Center for Strategy and American Statecraft. And at Georgetown University, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies and the Diplomacy Certificate with the goal of becoming a U.S. Foreign Service Officer.
