Anna Guethoff

Born and raised across Germany, Switzerland, and the United States, Anna graduated from Bowdoin College in 2026 with a degree in History and Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies. During her undergraduate studies, she also spent an academic year as a visiting student at the University of Oxford. Her academic interests include Russian domestic politics, information policy, and soft power, with a particular focus on how political narratives and online information environments shape public opinion, identity, and political behavior. In addition to her internship experience at a Washington, D.C.-based national security think tank, Anna has held positions in journalism, public history, and teaching English as a Second Language. At CERES, she hopes to deepen her regional expertise and Russian language skills while exploring the intersection of politics, media, and security across Europe and Eurasia. After Georgetown, she hopes to pursue a career in research or foreign policy focused on Russia and Eurasia in government or the think-tank community.
