Ethan Erickson

Ethan, a Wake Forest, North Carolina native, graduated Summa cum laude from Boston College in 2026 with a double major in Russian and International Studies. During his time in undergrad he won multiple awards at Harvard’s Olympiada of Spoken Russian, attended Middlebury Language Schools twice (2023 Arabic, 2024 Russian), represented Boston College at QatarDebate’s 5th U.S. Universities Arabic Debating Championship, and studied abroad in Croatia (where he learned Serbo-Croatian). He is a CLS Finalist (2025, Arabic) and Boren Alternate (2024, Croatian) as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Furthermore, he has taken classes in/studied to varying degrees Polish, Bulgarian, Japanese, Chinese, and Ukrainian. At Georgetown he is taking Intensive Turkish, a course which he would strongly recommend. His research interests are broadly memory and language politics, and he has recently become interested in emerging technologies-type issues. In terms of career aspirations, he is presently exploring opportunities in both public and private sectors. He is also a drummer.
