Derek Golob is from Menlo Park, California, and is completing his second year at CERES. His academic interests center on Russia and finance, and he interned at a Ukrainian private equity firm last summer. After earning his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the George Washington University in 2023, he gained professional experience at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he managed metadata for Russian-language materials and Eastern European publications. After graduation, he aspires to pursue a career in finance and private capital, with a particular focus on the region of study.
