Anna Bar is from San Diego, California. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in history and Russian studies. In 2013, Anna received a Boren Scholarship to study Russian in St. Petersburg, Russia.
A North Carolina native, Dale Bass completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied Political Science and Russian with a History minor. In his time as an undergrad, he spent a summer in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Joseph Bebel is originally from the Greater Kansas City area. Before coming to Georgetown, Joseph graduated from Brigham Young University in European Studies with a minor in International Strategy and Diplomacy.
Steven Berube received a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a B.A. in International Studies from Lafayette College. Following his undergraduate education, he enrolled into Georgetown’s MAERES program and is interested in Russian influence operations and the water-food-security nexus as it pertains to Central Asia.
Yueyi Chen is a second-year graduate student at CERES. She currently focuses on energy issues and geopolitical risks of foreign investments in Russia and Central Asia. She holds a B.A. in Russian Languages and Culture from Fudan University in Shanghai, China and had the experience of studying abroad in Moscow, Russia.
Nicholas Conlon is from Akron, Ohio and graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Political Science and minor in Slavic Languages and Literatures. After college, Nick spent one year teaching at KIMEP University in Almaty, Kazakhstan as a Princeton in Asia fellow and worked as an intern at the Institute for the Study of War and Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.
Aziz Egamov was born and grew up in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. He has attended University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent and, following his move to the United States, Manchester College in Connecticut and the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.
Kristijan Fidanovski was born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia. In 2012, he moved to Duino, Italy, where he graduated from the international English-language high school United World College in 2014. In 2017, he graduated in Politics and East European Studies at University College London.
Stephanie Myers Irizarry received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico. During her undergraduate study, she spent a year abroad in Moscow, Russia as a Boren scholar.
Eva Jovanova is a Skopje native passionate about the ex-Yugoslav countries, especially their integration into the EU and their relationship with Russia. She has an undergraduate degree in European Studies from Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany and completed an exchange semester in International Relations at St. Petersburg State University.
