Kristijan Fidanovski was born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia. In 2012, he moved to Duino, Italy, where he graduated from the international English-language high school United World College in 2014. In 2017, he graduated in Politics and East European Studies at University College London. He is the editor in chief of The Vostokian, an online blog about politics and society in Eastern Europe, and has interned for the American Bar Association and the Macedonian embassy in London. At present, he is an active member of the Macedonian diaspora organization Forum for Democratic Macedonia. Kristijan has also organized and participated in a variety of summer schools and youth engagement projects throughout the Balkan region. He is fluent in Macedonian, Serbian, English, Italian, German, and Russian. His research interests largely revolve around identity politics and public health in the ex-Yugoslav countries and elsewhere in Eastern Europe.
