Alida Blendonohy, originally from Lake Forest, Illinois, earned her B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2021. Additionally, Alida studied at the Ukrainian Catholic University’s School of Ukrainian Language and Culture in Lviv, Ukraine for three summer semesters and taught English to university students and seminarians at UCU. Internships with The U.S.- Ukraine Foundation and The Institute for the Study of War solidified Alida’s desire to pursue a career that would enable her to meaningfully engage with Eastern Europe and utilize her Ukrainian and Russian language skills. A Ukrainian American, Alida is passionate about furthering her understanding of the region’s culture and evolving security challenges as a graduate student.
