Dr. Kornely Kakachia is Associate Professor of Department of Political Science at Tbilisi State University. At the same time he works as Director of School of Politics & International Relations at University of Georgia and teaches classes on World Politics and International organizations and Global Governance. His research interest includes the Common Foreign and Security Policy of EU, CIS and regional security issues in South Caucasus. He has written articles on GUAM, Public security sector reforms in Georgia, role of international actors in conflict settlement in Abkhazia, Georgia. Previously he worked as an Analyst for the office of Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Georgia at United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia. He served as a President of Georgian Young Political Scientist Association and received IREX Contemporary issues program and Faculty Development Program fellowship of OSI.
